Sniff, Sniff

I am so sad that one of the most talented of all the idols, (besides Paula Abdul) went home tonight. I think that she gave up on being herself and got nervous. I really loved her earlier performances. I also feel like Jason the cheesey grinner should have gone home tonight. Trent thinks that he looks like Jon Travolta with dreads. He has a point. As always I will always rock with David Cook. I am already looking at his songs on itunes. Amazing performer. Keep it up idols it's getting down to the wire. Make it unique and modern that is all we ask!
One more thing... when I hear Neil Diamond songs it brings me back to Saturday mornings. We would put the Neil Diamond records on the turntable and do our chores. I love Neil Diamond!! "..turn on your heartlight, in the middle of a young boys dream. Don't wake me up too soon. Gonna take a ride across the moon, you and me." ahhhh!

For some reason I was thinking that the Salt Lake concert was on July 5th. Apparently I had the dates mixed up, so that makes it even better (in my opinion). I know it's on a Monday so maybe that makes it hard, but I think I will plan on going to this one. I'm all about the cheapest tickets, I'm sure you can see fine from wherever. What the!

Basically I'm in shock! I was almost positive that Brooke was going home... Crazy! I felt really weird that Carly went home. I don't know how I feel about that. It most definitely thought she would have lasted a few more weeks. Oh well! So I don't even know who the bottom three were. Who was it other than Syesha and Carly? I just saw it on You Tube and MSN.com. Oh well! Well.. So much for predictability!

Idol Tour

I seriously want to go to this! It could be a fun extravaganza for all of us Idol Blogging Fans! Here are some of the dates for shows close by:

Anyone interested? I am probably going to go for sure. I went to the show for Season 2 and it was a lot of fun (of course, back then I was obsessed with Clay so I was willing to do just about anything to get in the same room as him). The show was good though and I think this year had a lot of talent so it could be a fun show. We could do dinner and a show. Anyone interested? If not, I'll be dragging my hubby along alone! Ha ha ha!

SIX!

I was pretty darn happy that it was real music week. :) hee hee. What can I say. I love Broadway. Anyway, I was pretty impressed with all the contestants in the fact that they didn't have nervous breakdowns singing in front of Andrew Lloyd Webber. I don't think I would have been able to breathe. I agree in thinking that it will probably be either Brooke or Jason to go. I do like Brooke a lot, but she's not quite where the others are. I thought Syesha and David A. were the best performances of the night. And I agree with the judges. Syesha may not win this contest, but she's gotten some great exposure and I seriously wouldn't be surprised to see her on Broadway in the not too distant future. (And let's be honest, in my opinion, that's so much cooler than being a pop star :) I was a little concerned about David Cook because I worried that he would try to turn Phantom into a rock song. Thankfully he didn't. He couldn't hit the low notes, which made it start out not that great. But he did extremely well on the high. And then ended it weird. What was with that last note? Seriously. So it was pretty good. And I loved that Sir Andrew :) told Carly not to do that song. And although I reallyd don't like that song, she did rock out on it. So who knows what's going to happen! Broadway Bound

Holy Canoli!

Could I be any happier? Andrew Lloyd Webber and American Idol? The drama geek in me was doing a "go, fight, win" cheerleader cheer. :o)

Seriously...I really loved tonight's show. While a bit unpredictable in spots, it was nonetheless enjoyable.

It was great to see Syesha PERFORM.

I wanted to pet Jason's dreads while he sang that girly kitty song.

I felt bad that Brooke forgot her lyrics, but thought she recovered well enough.

I liked David A.'s updated and manly version of another girly song.

I think Carly rocked the house.

I wanted to pop David C.'s head off and hang it from my rear view mirror.

Fun, fun, fun!

Sadly, I think Brooke will go. She just hasn't been able to turn in those solid performances when it really matters, her self-confidence has been seriously lacking and I think she's become a bit distracted by the "real life" things she's missing out on. Those three things combined may be her downfall.

Jenny's Thought on Top 6

I thought tonight's show was good. At this point I really don't want to see any of the contestants go. I think they are all very talented. Unfortunately, someone has to go home every week.

Syesha "One Rock and Roll Too Many" - It was nice to see her actually get into a song and feel completely at ease with it. I thought she did a good job with it.

Jason "Memory" - I figured that someone would be singing this song tonight, but I never would have guessed that it would have been a guy - and I especially never would have thought it would be Jason who sang it. I don't think his vocals were spot on, but I still liked his version of it. I think he did better than the judges gave him credit for.

Brooke "You Must Love Me" - I am really disappointed that she didn't sing the song that I wanted her to sing because I think she could have done a great job with it. I was disappointed with her little mess-up of the words, but I guess she's gutsy enough to start over. It's not quite as smooth though when she's not at the piano...it's much more obvious. I feel like she's really struggled with her sound the past few weeks. I think she's had a hard time doing her type of music with the themes she's been given. I really think this week hurt her and I think she might be the one to go this week. I'm a fan so I'd like to see her stay and redeem herself!

David Archuleta "Think of Me" - Once again I was a little surprised by the song choice, but I think he did a great job. I liked it a lot and I especially liked his arrangement of it. Great job, David!

Carly "Jesus Christ Superstar" - I think Andrew Lloyd Webber was right to have her switch songs. She did a great job with this song. I agree with the judges that it was a little screechy in the middle, but I think this was a really strong night for her.

David Cook "Music of the Night" - Yay, he took my advice! I was so hoping that he would put "his" spin on this song though. I think it could have been very eerie sounding and powerful if he had made his own arrangement of it. However, I still think he did a good job. I just would have liked to see more of him in it.

Bottom Three: Syesha, Brooke, Jason. I really think Brooke might be in trouble this week. I think she kind of shot herself in the foot. Hopefully America can be forgiving and give her another chance, but I don't know.

Results Show

So, I wasn't too surprised to see that Brooke was in the bottom two. After watching her performance again, I think she would have done a much better performance had she used the band, instead of playing the piano. However, I am glad that she's still around. I agreed with Paula in thinking that Ryan should have been the one sent home tonight, but I also agree with Simon that it was Kristy's turn to go. Personally, if I was in her shoes, I would have lost my composure a few times ago in the bottom twelve. I think she'll do swell in Nashville!

An All Boy Final 3?

Kurt brought up an interesting idea tonight. He thinks David A., David C. and Jason will be the final 3. I think he may be right. Thoughts?

I'm glad Brooke got to stay tonight. I think she's a very genuine entertainer. I enjoy her performances and her "real-ness". She may not always be perfect, but that's one of the things I like about her. Unfortunately, I don't think America will agree with me for much longer. Here's hoping she can step it up a bit and make it through for a few more weeks.

I don't think it was totally fair that on one of Kristy's better weeks that she got the boot. But American Idol isn't about being fair! And speaking of the fair...I'm sure Kristy will be singing at a county fair near you this summer. :o) It's also entirely possible that we'll see her face in some sort of make-up or skin care advertisement...she really is beautiful.

My thoughts about the Top 7

So this was a pretty intense night. I thought every contestant did rather well. There weren't any huge screw ups, which was nice.

I thought that David Archuleta did phenomenal! I loved how he kind of threw it around. That's one of my favorite songs and I was very proud of him! Pretty sure he's going to win, if not he'll be in the top 2. He has a wonderful voice! I really want him and Josh Groban to do a duet!

David Cook did well. I loved that he put his twist on it, but I honestly don't like it when it goes that low. I think he did that last week with the Our Lady Peace song, and I feel he shouldn't push his voice so much. When he hit the chorus, I loved it though! If he were to do that single, more than likely I would download it and put it on a CD...

Kristy Lee Cook, I thought she did really well. Comparative to the rest of her performances. No way is she going to make it to to top three, but I felt that she did really well with what she had. I thought she was trying to stretch her voice a little too much as well, they need to stay in their range... it sounds a lot better!

Jason Castro, I have to say I felt the same way about it that Randy did. I thought it was a little awkward, but I always kind of feel awkward when I watch him because the faces he makes when he sings, I don't know why he does because it's really weird!

Syesha Mercado, I felt this was her week. Obviously since it was Mariah Carey... you knew she could connect with this because this is her kind of music! I love it when she belts it and I think she has a wonderful voice!

Brooke White, unfortunately I thinks he's falling. She's not bringing anything new to the table, and even though I absolutely love her type of music, I feel like she can't stand up to the rest of the contestants.

Carly Smithson, I've decided, I don't like watching her sing as well. When she belts it, her mouth does a really strange thing and I don't know how I feel about that. She has an amazing range and is a great singer, but I have a hard time watching her. Plus her appearance doesn't really match the type of music she sings. With all of those tattoo's down her arm, I expect her to rock out, and I only saw that on the first Beatles week. She is talented though! I can't dispute that!

My predictions: The bottom three... Brooke, Kristy, Carly... I really don't know who's going to go home anymore!

Whaaaaat?

Not that I'm really sad to see him go. He wasn't my favorite, but I thought for sure Kristy and Syesha would go before him. I was a little surprised. Anyone else surprised, or did everyone else see this coming?
