The Show Must Go On . . .

. . . but can it???

I am really bummed to hear that this is Simon's last season on American Idol. Let's face it, he plays a huge part in why the show is such a success.

I don't really care that Paula left, I don't think that will change the show at all. I love Kara and think they should have booted Paula last year and let Kara take her place. We would've been fine this year without a fourth judge. I'm still interested to see how Ellen does as a judge. I love Ellen, but I don't know how I'll like her as an Idol judge. I just hope she doesn't try to be funny every time she talks. I don't want any forced jokes (please refer to when she judged on So You Think You Can Dance). I love Ellen though and I really do think she's hilarious. I hope she just meshes well and the show is the same (if not better) with her on it. I want to take her seriously as a real judge and not just as Funny Ellen. I hope I can do that.

I can't think of anyone who can take Simon's place. I'm sad that he's leaving and am worried at where that might take the show. I don't think his new show, The X Factor, will be very successful (didn't they already try it in the U.S. years ago?).

What do you think? Can the show go on without Simon? Will it be as successful, interesting, and balanced? Or is the star power lost?

Idol Season 9

Tap, tap, tap...

Is this thing on? Is there anyone out there?

Insert crickets chirping here.

What do you say? Shall we dust off the blog for Idol Season 9?

Come on! It'll be fun!

What? You need more motivation that just "fun"?

Okay...how about this...

I happen to know of a good-looking and very talented Utah/Arizona boy who auditioned in Boston and will be shown on tonight's episode.

Any takers?

M.I.A.

First of all, thank you for keeping this blog going! I have been Missing In Action for the last half of the season because my computer got a virus and died. Very sad. I'm grateful that you all kept up the chat without me and that someone kept the blog up-to-date. You are all great!

I just have to say that I really wished Danny would've been in the finale, but I'm still grateful that Kris beat out Adam. All that really mattered to me is that Adam didn't win. Danny was my boy though! Oh well. It seems like my favorite person is never the actual "Idol" but they still always do well. C'est la vie!

Let's all hope for a great season next year. I hope Simon sticks around and I'd love to see Kara stay, too. As for Paula, I wouldn't really miss her.

So that's the down-low from the J-Ro.

Woot! Go Kris!

Okay, so I'm totally happy with the results of our this year's American Idol. Granted, I would have loved a Danny/Kris final. But then I might have been somewhat sad whoever won since I like them both so much. So this way, I just got to be really excited that Kris won. Woo hoo and way to go!

My Blip to Add

Crazy week on idol! I love Matt but am not sure if it was too soon to use the save. Does anyone else think that whoever is styling Adam needs to stop the skinny jean look. Adam is not skinny enough to pull it off and looks very unflattering (in addition to the eyeliner :)

Your Challenge

K Guys, I want to know what song you would pick that was a hit the year you were born. This is the one time in my life when I wish I was born in the eighties. Hope the contestants can pick some good songs!! I have to say that picking the right song is hard work so good luck to them.

BTW my song is MacArthur's Park from Donna Summer :)

To find the 100 hits of your birth year just type in hits of ____ in the google search!

Okay, I missed the show Tuesday, but after seeing Megan's performance on last nights results show, I can see why she went. I actually like her voice and usually don't mind her, but seeing that disaster last night, I am not sad to see her go. What WAS that?? The girl has no rhythm. She needs to stand still when she sings.

Lady Ga Ga...I had never heard of her before, and after seeing her last night (and I hope I don't offend anyone here who may like her) I am not sad about that. She's a freak. And so are the spastic dancers she was with. Holy moly.

The Poofy Mullet

I'm confused . . . is the poofy hair that looks like a mullet back in style? Please tell me no or I might start crying right now! Is this Miami Vice or American Idol 2009???

Besides the poofy mullet, tonight was a pretty decent night. I thought Danny Gokey was amazing - I even teared up a little. Kris Allen was good and I'm starting to like him more and more every week. That's a good thing! I thought Lil Rounds looked a lot older than she is. Gag - like almost 40! It's just sad because she's so young.

I'm too tired to talk about anyone else . . . I'm still obsessing over the hair. Gross!

My Dear Sweet Carrie . . .

I love you and your voice is brilliant. You sang beautifully tonight. Even Randy Travis was in awe.

My question to you is this . . . what - and I repeat - WHAT was on your head???

Deep Thoughts...

by my hubby, Kurt.

"Did Adam Lambert borrow his jacket from the Tin Woodsman?"

"I didn't know Trent Reznor could sing 'The Ring of Fire'!"
(He said this while Adam was singing...long before Randy Jackson made the Nine Inch Nails reference in the critique.)

I'm thinking maybe next season they should add him as a fifth judge! :o)

He could sit between Cara and Paula...woo woo!

Bottom Three Plea

Please America, let's get it right!

Here are my bottom three from this week:

Adam Lambert (do we really want to see him on tour?! Sick!)
Lil Rounds (I'm just not diggin' it. Tonight was a train wreck)
Michael Sarver (I really like him as a person, but he had a poor song choice - nobody can sing that song like Garth!)

Who I'd like to see go: Adam or Lil (wouldn't shed a tear for either of them)

Who I think will go: Michael

But please, please . . . I'd love to bid farewell to Adam!

Gag Me with a Pitchfork...

Adam Lambert is utterly gross! His song tonight was ridiculous and it LITERALLY made me want to puke. I seriously think I felt a little vomit slowly rising as he sang. BARF!
