It's My Party and I'll Cry if I want to!

Here are some pics from our rockin' American Idol party. We had a lot of fun and I'm glad that people actually showed up! I want to thank Dustyn and Kamie for driving so far to come party with us. It was fun.

I was a little disappointed that David Archuleta didn't win, but I was somehow able to fall asleep last night without crying ;0) I think both the David's are extremely talented, but I was really rooting for our hometown kid.

Being the big impatient cheaters we are, Kamie and I had both peeked at dialidol.com before the show started. The website was predicting Cook to win it by quite a bit. So we weren't too surprised that Cook won, but we were still hoping for a miracle with Archuleta.

All in all, it was a lot of fun. I think last year's finale show was a little better (more stars, more funny moments, etc) but I definitely liked this year's contestants a ton better. I can't wait for next year!

I forgot to take a picture of all our food before we started eating. There was a ton! We had this table full and another smaller table, too. Kamie brought some super-yummy food and she made an awesome seven-layer dip (thanks again). To give you an idea of how much food we had, this was just a little of what was left over! We definitely had plenty to eat! YUMMY!

And the crowds go wild!

People were gathered all over Kansas City to watch the results. We watched the news after the show and they showed all the crowds just going CRAZY!! It was awesome. It's going to be on the news here for a while. I really didn't care who won. By the time you get to the final 2, you know they are both gonna end up with record deals regardless of who the actual winner is. And these two were both my favorites. I am now anxiously awaiting for both of thier first cd releases. YAY for the Davids. :)

I am utterly and completely upset! That's frustrating! But... I guess now, David A. can go on a mission in a few years...

Thanks Jenny (and Daniel) for hosting a fun party!  It was good to see you two!  

Of course I took my camera and never even pulled it out.  :P  Yes. Yes.  Just call me a slacker.  So no pictures for you.  

Now what's next?  Do we just all walk away and promise to be back next year?  :)

Wow. What a fun night. I have to agree. I thought David A. outperformed and did a great job. It also seemed like David C. was just - I don't know - almost like he was just exhausted and didn't quite have enough in him to do his very best. He did good. But I've seen/heard him do much better. Anyway, either way, it was a lot of fun. Way to go Davids. :)

So, I definitely think this kid was absolutely amazing tonight! I agree with Simon that he was the best tonight as well. I'm not even saying that because he is from utah, and LDS and all that stuff. He has an incredible voice! The end.

American Idol FINALE Party Plans

The party is on! I'm going to have a finale party at my house in Cedar City on Wednesday during the finale. We will have treats and snacks - it will be WAY fun. For those of you who have expressed interest in coming, I will email you the address to my house. If you haven't expressed interest and you want to come, then leave me a comment.

In year's past they've done a pre-show that I think usually starts at like 6:30pm. Maybe it starts at 6:00pm, I don't know for sure. Does anyone know? I assume we'll start the party as soon as the show starts. If you want to start it for the pre-show then that's fine, too. Just let me know. I know I'll be watching it.

Can't wait to see those of you who can make it! If you want to bring a friend, spouse, lover, or stuffed animal that's just fine. Just please let me know.

Yay for the final two!

Okay, Fantasia (sp) is just freakish. I think she sounds good, but she just looks and dances...well, freakish. The look on Simons face said it ALL. LOL. Best part of the show. And I must say, I am very pleased with the final two. Even though my prediction was WRONG! haha.

David Archuleta

Does David Archuleta need to step it up in order to win? I know that he and David Cook have been the top two pretty much every week, but David Archuleta used to always be in first place. The past few weeks David Cook has been in first. (All of this is according to http://www.dialidol.com/ . Then click on Predictions)

I didn't like it last night when Simon said that David Cook "won the night". I didn't necessarily agree with that statement, but I do think David Archuleta might need to step it up in order to snag this thing. I'm just worried because the person I root for all season long always ends up in second place. Can we say, Clay Aiken??? So I don't want that to happen to poor David!

Tonight's Show

I thought tonight was pretty good. The producer's choices were a little....um...interesting. It still worked out though. I hope you all put in some votes for our resident favorite, David Archuleta. I know I did!
