My Own Thoughts
This is probably the coolest thing that I have been apart of. I love American Idol, I sometimes forget to watch it, but I usually catch up on youtube... BUT I did watch the elimination show last night, pretty interesting. I was with you guys, I thought that Kady should have gone, but that's ok. One person that I wasn't all that impressed with, was Kristy, which makes me sad because she has my same name. (My way is spelled better, but that's fine) I don't really think she has what it takes. I'm absolutely in loved in Syesha and David Archuleta. They have just rocked my socks! The John Lennon song completely gave me chills and made me just want to listen to it over and over again. It almost reminded me of Josh Groban, that same kind of feel. I'm really starting to get into now and am way excited about what will happen next week!

Surprised?
Anyone else surprised at the contestants who were eliminated tonight? I wasn't surprised about the boys, but the girls did surprise me a little. I thought that the two girls who went home deserved at least one more week there. I really thought Kady Malloy and Amanda Overmyer should have gone home. Kady looked SO shocked when she was safe!

My analysis for the week
Good idea Jenny! I like it. This is a good way to check in on the updates. :)
So... my analysis for this week:
David A. did fantastic this week. Risky changing up a John Lennon song, but did an excellent job. And it was a little slower, so it gave him a chance to really show what a great voice he has. Way to go him.
Still liking Chikezie. Thought he did a great job this week. Still really like his smile. :)
I felt that David Cook did really well this week. I was quite impressed with what he did. And David Hernandez really stepped it up this week also. I felt last week was a big struggle. But, much much better. Look at the Davids go.
Who I think will be going this week? Luke really can't sing all that well in my own opinion. He should be one to go. I liked Jason Yeager at first, but I don't feel like he has the talent of the others. So he's a possibility. Other possible choice: Robbie (long haired guy). I feel those are probably the bottom 3 guys in the competition right now. And I do have to say that I'm going to disagree with you Jenny. :) I don't think he's a rocker. He sang with Brittany Spears. I think he's a boyband type of guy trying to pull of a rocker.
Girls...
Brooke did a fantastic job! That song totally fit her. It looked great with the guitar. I liked it a lot. I also still really like Syesha. I know they didn't love the slow song, but I think a real musician needs to be able to do some variety. By doing a slow song, I felt she showed that she can really sing. Good job her. Unlike some others.... Those were the only two that really stuck out to me. Granted, Carly Smithson does have a very good voice. She's definitely not in the bottom.
Amanda Overmyer, rocker girl, needs to go. I think it became obvious last night that the girl can't really sing. I don't think she will get voted off, just because she's that different style. So I think they'll keep her. But I think she needs to go. I do think that Kady Malloy will be going. I think she has some potential, but she needs some maturity and growing before she'll be there. I'm not sure who else. I have a couple of different ideas. But I personally feel those are the bottom two. :)

Jenny's thoughts on this week
I thought David Archuleta was the absolute stand-out best. I think he is amazing, and humble too - which is refreshing. I thought the other two Davids were the best, too. The Davids definitely ruled the night. I thought it was silly when Simon made a big deal when David Cook said, "Fortunately America gets to vote and decide." I totally don't think he meant it to be condescending. I think Simon has PMS this week. ;0)
As far as Chikezie is concerned, I think he is VERY talented, but I have been a little disappointed the last two weeks. I am still totally rooting for him, but I think he needs to pick better songs (and better clothes). I think he has a great voice though.
Bottom Three Guys:
-Jason Yeager (I think he's going tonight for sure) -he kind of reminded me of Donny Osmond, or like a Disney cartoon singing voice (in a good way). I just don't think he's great for this competition. And I felt like in his video about himself this week that he was totally bragging, "I am self-taught in piano, I am self-taught on guitar, I am self-taught on drums..." etc etc BLAH BLAH BLAH!
-Robbie Carrico. I do think he's a genuine rocker (I don't think he's "faking" like the judges do), but I just don't think he's going to get the vote.
-Luke Menard. When he sang "Bohemiem (sp?) Rhapsody" during Hollywood week I thought he was great. But I have not liked what he's done the past few weeks. I really don't think he'll get the votes either. He might be able to last one more week, but not much longer than that. I like him a lot better when he wears his hat, I think he should wear it all the time. Weird, I know.
Bottom Three Girls:

I liked Kristy a lot better this week, and for some reason I like her a TON better when she does her hair permy. I just think that there are so many blodes who look the same in this competition that when she does her hair straight she doesn't stand out as much.

Let's Talk Idol!
Since a lot of us watch Idol and we all email back and forth about it, I thought it would be fun to do this blog! Feel free to invite your friends and family to be contributors on this blog.
